Helena Hof

Helena Hof is Senior Research and Teaching Fellow in Social Science of Japan at the University of Zurich and a Research Fellow at the Max Planck Institute for the Study of Religious and Ethnic Diversity. Her work lies at the nexus of the sociology of work, skilled and middle class migration, gender, ethnicity and race, and entrepreneurship. She is currently part of the German government-funded collaborative project Qualification and Skill in the Migration Process of Foreign Workers in Asia (QuaMaFa) within which she is PI of her individual project ‘Foreign entrepreneurs in Tokyo’s and Singapore’s knowledge-intensive start-up sector.
