Podcast host Milena Ragaz visits DSI professor and work geographer Karin Schwiter in her office at the University of Zurich. Due to her research, Karin Schwiter is a “platform specialist”, knows how they work and is familiar with their strategies and business models. We ask her what it means to work for a platform and what impact platforms have on the world of work and society.
Dr. Marisol Keller also provides exciting insights into the world of platforms. As part of her research, she worked for platforms herself and cleaned private households, for example. What did she experience as a platform worker? How well was she paid? And what insights did she gain?
Finally, we ask Prof. Dr. Karin Schwiter about the future of platforms. She summarizes the latest scientific findings and classifies them. Listen in.
