Ordering a pizza via an app, meeting your new boss online or having your grandmother looked after with a click. Today, all of this is possible and has become the norm: apps and algorithms are shaping our everyday lives.
It is precisely this development – digitalization – that is having a major impact on society as a whole. It is changing rapidly and sometimes unnoticed.
Background
How will digitalization affect the world of work? What are people’s beliefs and emotions about work today and in the future? Are emotions welcome at work? What impact do job platforms have on the world of work in Switzerland? The planned DSI Community Work podcast aims at presenting current innovative projects of community members and thus make science accessible to a wider interested public. The target group is everyone who is interested in digitalization in the workplace. From young to old, from academics (across all disciplines and faculties) to non-academics, people from all professions, short: the whole society. What they all have in common is curiosity and interest in new developments and the digitalization in the field of work.
Goals
Method
Our community member MLaw Milena Ragaz, who is a former journalist, already brings valuable experience in producing a successful science-for-society podcast series (see “Arbeitsrecht Inside” by Prof. Dr. Roger Rudolph and Milena Ragaz – available on Spotify and Apple Podcasts). In our podcast, she will talk with the researchers about the background of their studies, their goals and the method of investigation – in a nutshell. The researchers will also reveal their most exciting findings and the challenges they faced during the project. Great emphasis is placed on comprehensibility and storytelling.
